Christian Education

Adult Education offerings are scheduled for Sunday mornings, 10:15 to 11:10 and at other times, such as Lent (Wednesday evenings). Check bulletin or the Epistle for topics.

Youth Education  offers Sunday School, held Sunday mornings, 10:15-11:10 during the school year.

Bible Study

St. James Christian Formation is designed to offer parishioners several opportunities to learn and grow as they continue their journey in faith.

 Christian Education offerings include:

  • Bible Study Groups & Spirituality Groups are held weekly by our priests. Check with the Parish Secretary and the Epistle for current classes.
  • Book Study Group - This women’s book group meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings at 9:00. The group collectively chooses books with spiritual themes, alternating between fiction & non-fiction. New members are welcome.
  • Catechumenate classes are taught by the Clergy to prepare individuals for Confirmation. Check with office for schedule.
  • Education for Ministry (EFM) is a four-year intensive program in ministry for lay persons offered by Sewanee, The University of the South. The group meets weekly.
  • The St. James Library is located beside the St. James Room. Volunteer librarians staff the library. This is a user friendly, self check-out library. Please feel free to come in, browse and borrow.
  • Passage Meditation - Want to learn to meditate? On Tuesday evenings participants gather to discuss and practice Passage Meditation. An introductory course is offered every September. Interested individuals are welcome to attend anytime.
