How can I leave a legacy to St. James Church? For more information, please contact David Marshall, parish administrator: david@stjamesepiscopal.com |
St. James Charities Foundation is a ministry to help people plan the disposition of their earthly assets to the people and institutions they really care about.
The Book of Common Prayer obliges ministers to instruct the people, from time to time, about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provisions for the well-being of their families, and of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able, to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses.
If your financial or estate plan includes a possible gift to St. James Church, you may want to explore the many ways in which you can provide that gift. For example, you may make a gift and receive income during your lifetime. St. James Church does not provide legal or tax advisory services. However, there are free services available through the Episcopal Church Foundation. We will be happy to make that information available to you.
Gifts may be designated for a particular ministry, such as outreach, music, scholarships, Christian education, Memorial Garden preservation, or for facilities not provided for in the operating budget. These gifts will be used only for the purpose designated by the donor. Most gifts, however, will come with no restrictions as to their use. Except for cash, life insurance policies, or listed Securities, gifts are subject to the approval of the Vestry.
The St. James Episcopal Church Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
