Pastoral Ministries

Christmas and Easter Flowers & Gift Baskets
This ministry provides flower arrangements and gift baskets made by the children in the St. James School for Little Folks for all our homebound members.

Meals Ministry
This ministry provides meals for those who are recuperating from a hospital stay. We also provide help from time to time with grocery shopping.

Burial/Memorial Receptions
This ministry provides a simple reception for family and friends following burial and memorial services.

Lay Eucharistic Visitor
This ministry provides trained and licensed volunteers who feel called to bring the presence of Christ in the sacrament of Holy Eucharist to those members of our congregation who are homebound.

New Baby Ministry
This ministry offers support and encouragement to pregnant and new parents by providing meals, if needed, and a welcome basket.

Pen Ladies
This is a ministry where letters of encouragement are sent to all members who are celebrating birthdays, at home sick, or in need of general encouragement.

Intercessory Prayer Group
This group prays for people each day who are placed on a prayer list. The list is maintained by the clergy. Anyone wishing to place someone on the prayer list may contact the church.

Stephen Ministry
This is a ministry of listening. In this ministry lay people are highly trained to offer confidential one-on-one support and spiritual care to persons facing crisis or difficulties such as relocation, job issues, grief, chronic or terminal illness, divorce, miscarriage, infertility, or aging issues. Care givers typically meet with someone anywhere from six months to one year.

Transportation
This ministry provides a ride from time to time to Sunday services or to run an errand.

Telephone Prayer Chain
This ministry is used for crisis or emergency situations that need immediate prayer attention. Members pray for three days after which the person’s name may be placed on the monthly Prayer List if desired.

Visitation Ministry
This ministry provides a visit to homebound members of our parish to offer support and companionship.

Christmas and Easter Party
This ministry offers a party for the children and parents of the School for Little Folks, as well as any young children from the parish who wish to attend.

Memorial Celebration This ministry provides a brief memorial service for those grieving the loss of a loved one in the parish hall which is followed by a dinner.
