Stewardship Committee has five components. All groups welcome volunteers:

  • Annual Campaign - The St. James Annual Campaign is a year-round effort with an educational forum, Good News Receptions, guest speakers and follow-up team for pledge cards.
  • Buildings & Grounds  - This committee plans and implements projects of maintenance, renovation, fencing, lighting, and landscaping. Much of the work is accomplished by the weekly Wednesday Work Crew of volunteers.
  • EPIC - This group is dedicated to undertaking action projects in the Social Justice areas of Environment, Peace, Inclusiveness, and Care for the poor. They meet monthly for study.
  • Memorial Garden Committee - Members of this committee participate in a variety of projects such as, planting special flower beds, fertilizing, weeding, and pruning. Maintenance of walkway and cleaning of benches were recent accomplishments.
  • Planned Giving  - This group is a recent addition to the Stewardship Committee. It has established the St. James Episcopal Church Foundation, approved by the IRS and the State of NC as an official entity that accepts gifts designated for a particular purpose or undesignated gifts which go into an endowment fund.
