Acolyte Guild: - The Guild recruits and trains acolytes for service at the altar. Acolytes assist the celebrant at Sunday morning services, weddings, funerals and special services. New servers, 10 years old or older, are commissioned in the fall to serve with dignity, humility, diligence and commitment for a minimum of one year.

Altar Guild - Under the Rector's direction, Guild members prepare the altar for all services at St. James. Each member serves on one or more committees within the Guild. Contact this ministry head by using the Ministries Telephone and E-mail Directory. See link at the top of this page.

Chalice Bearers - The Guild is made up of parishioners who faithfully administer the sacrament during all services at St. James. Tower Bell Ringers -

Flower Guild - The Flower Guild orders and arranges the flowers given by parishioners in the church. Parishioners interested in donating the funds necessary to place flowers in the sanctuary in honor of loved ones are encouraged to sign the flower chart in the Narthex and complete a form indicating the wording of their memorial or thanksgiving offering. Lectors/Lay Readers Committee - Volunteers of various ages are responsible for reading the lessons and leading intercessory prayers at weekly church services and special services. Music Ministries:

Sewing Guild - The Sewing Guild at St. James meets twice a month for fellowship and to work together to complete sewing projects for liturgical needs of the parish. In the past these project have included making and repairing altar linens and design and creating numerous banners. Contact this ministry head by using the Ministries Telephone and E-mail Directory. Ushers - Help to assure that the quality of worship services remains high. Four person teams are led by a Head Usher. With 8 teams currently in operation on a rotational basis, each team can be expected to serve 3 or 4 times a year. Contact this ministry head by using the Ministries Telephone and E-mail Directory. Vergers - The vergers serve at the 11 am service and ensure that all participants are present and that the nave and altar are prepared for the service.
