A concert featuring pianist Andrew Rogelberg will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Sunday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Rogelberg will be playing a program of classical music by Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, and Cuban composer Ignacio Cervantes.
Mr. Rogelberg was active as a pianist, accompanist, and teacher in New York for many years before his fondness for the Blue Ridge Mountains prompted him to return to his family’s home in Hendersonville. Mr. Rogelberg’s training as a concert pianist includes studies at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida, Indiana University’s famed school of music, and the New England Conservatory in Boston. He was first place winner of Brevard Music Center’s concerto competition, the Asheville Symphony concerto competition, and The National Society of Arts and Letters piano competition in Miami, Florida. Mr. Rogelberg has performed solo and chamber recitals throughout the United States and in Europe.
The cost for the July 14th concert will be $25.00, with all proceeds benefiting the St. James Outreach Commission’s Fund for International Companionships. A Garden Party reception will follow the performance featuring harpist Lelia Lattimore.
