St. James has a long history of living its ministry in our community. Just a few of these programs some exclusive to St. James, but most are with other community groups are listed below.

Blessings in Boxes - Ministry Leaders: Sarah and Carson Carpenter

Blessings in Boxes provides Christmas gifts to 2000 children and youth in Henderson County through The Storehouse.

Carpenter's Club - Ministry Leaders: Bill Burdett/Frank Byrd

Carpenters’ Club provides hand-on housing rehabilitation and construction assistance for those who are unable to provide for themselves.

EYC Mission Trips - Ministry Leader: Christoph Herpel

This past summer 2018, our high school youth went to the country of Panama to work with the nonprofit PROMESA in sustainable agriculture. We had a great group of 12 youth and 8 adults. We are planning to go on a local mission trip this summer. If you would like to attend this year's mission trip you must volunteer with Apple Festival Parking, Candlemas Concert, and April Brunch Fundraiser! These fundraisers allow youth to attend the annual mission trip for free. 

Feed the Kids - Ministry Leader: Kent Loy

Feed the Kids is a cooperative effort among several churches in Hendersonville to provide a hot meal at the Boys and Girls Club on Friday afternoons. This meal is, for many of the children, the last hot meal they will have before returning to school on Monday. Prep work is done on Thursdays, and the final preparation and serving is on Fridays. Henderson County Hunger Coalition - Ministry Leader: Alex Kealy

Henderson County Hunger Coalition sponsors the Walk for Hunger each year to meet the needs of the hungry in our community.

Hendersonville Rescue Mission - Ministry Leader: Mickey Coleman

The Hendersonville rescue Mission is a Christian ministry that provides clothing, access to medical care and overnight shelter to homeless men, women, and children while serving three warm meals everyday that are free and available to the public seven days a week.

IAM (Interfaith Assistance Ministry) - Ministry Leader: Judi Frame

IAM provides help meeting basic needs for county residents in financial crisis.

Knitters' Guild - Minstry Leader: Nancy Morton

Knitters’ Guild knits hats for Head Start children and blankets for the Linus Blanket Project for needy children in Henderson County.

Medical Loan Closet- Ministry Leader: Dick Nace 

Medical Loan Closet makes loans of durable medical equipment to residents of Henderson County free of any charges to assist in recovery from illness or accident.

Our Little Roses - Ministry Leader: Frank Byrd

Our Little Roses Mission Team supports an Episcopal-related home for abused and abandoned girls in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, organizing yearly mission trips to actively engage with the children there.

Outreach Commission- Ministry Leader: Alex Kealy

Outreach Commission - Initiates and facilitates a variety of projects which provide financial support to benefit others in need, educates the parish of those opportunities, and explores future charitable needs.

Safelight - Ministry Leader: Julie Todd

Safelight is a nonprofit agency that provides support for survivors of interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
