A Brief History of St. James Charities Foundation
St. James Charities Foundation was legally established as a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization in 1987. The Vestry appointed twelve persons to be the founding Board of Stewards for the Saint James Charities Foundation; nine lay members were to come from St. James and three from Henderson County. The sole object and purpose of the trust “is to meet human and community needs in the City of Hendersonville and Henderson County. Over the years, bequests have been made to the Charities Foundation and these funds are managed by outside investment administrators.
Since 1988, 106 different agencies have been funded for a total of $ 611,412.

The 2021 grant cycle will begin in May, 2021 and application forms will be made available at that time.
